Anodize Backline - Tank Maintenance Tech - 3rd Shift

About the position

The Tank Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily cleaning, setup, and maintenance of process tanks in the anodizing backline area. This role involves handling hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and performing advanced troubleshooting on equipment. The technician will work with minimal supervision and must maintain accurate logs and documentation of processes and materials used.

Responsibilities

• Daily tank cleaning and maintenance of process tank area.
• Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials following safety and environmental regulations.
• Drain, clean, and remake process tanks and rinse tanks.
• Transport hazardous materials and chemicals to proper storage areas.
• Prepare process tanks for further use according to chemical makeup instructions.
• Maintain good log keeping and documentation skills.
• Perform lockout/tagout procedures as required.
• Work in confined spaces as required.
• Understand waste treatment and laboratory activities.
• Record product and processing data on specified forms when needed.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on existing equipment.
• Ascertain levels of pollution and recommend actions to management for compliance with regulations.
• Assist in minor repairs and maintenance of equipment using hand tools.
• Operate a forklift as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Intermediate chemical knowledge.
• Intermediate mechanical skills, including plastic welding and valve replacement.
• Ability to read technical data and interpret results.
• Capable of performing mathematical equations.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
