About the position

Alaska Northstar Resources is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of DevOps Expert III. This full-time, remote position is contingent upon contract award, with an estimated start date around mid-July 2024. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building, scripting, testing, and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud-native API commands through automation and orchestration. This will involve utilizing various tools such as JSON, Ansible, DSL, Python, Jenkins, Chef, and Terraform. The candidate will be responsible for writing IaC for both cloud-native service deployment and hosted application deployment to cloud services, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Beanstalk, AWS Lambda, and Azure App Services. In addition to technical responsibilities, the DevOps Expert III will provide cloud service expertise to cloud-deployed applications, assisting application developers in integrating application-specific components into available cloud services. The role also requires preparing operating instructions, compiling documentation of IaC when necessary, and analyzing system capabilities to resolve questions regarding IaC intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. The candidate will work within an Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework, participating in two- to three-week sprints, daily scrums, and utilizing sprint tracking software to communicate individual work activity to stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Build, script, test, and deploy Infrastructure as Code and cloud native API commands via automation/orchestration using tools such as JSON, Ansible, DSL, Python, Jenkins, Chef, and Terraform.
  • Write IaC for both cloud native service deployment and for hosted application deployment to cloud services (AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS Lambda, Azure App Services).
  • Provide cloud service expertise to cloud-deployed applications, assisting application developers with integrating application-specific components into available cloud services.
  • Prepare operating instructions and compile documentation of IaC when necessary.
  • Analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of IaC intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have active DoD Secret Clearance at minimum.
  • Must have Security+ CE or other applicable 8570 IAT Level II Certification.
  • Must have at least 15 years of related experience in information technology, including Cloud Services.
  • Must have experience with AWS ECS Fargate/Terraform Containerized Atlassian Data Center HA Solution (IaC) using AWS PaaS VPC (CloudOne).
  • Must have Kubernetes experience.

  • Experience with DoD/FedRamp Implementations - Cybersecurity, STIGs, Zero Trust Architecture, NGINX, Keycloak, Terraform, Lambda, PostgreSQL, Git, ELK Stack.
