About the position

Alaska Northstar Resources (ANR) is seeking a fully remote Test Automation Engineer to support a long-term program for a US government initiative. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing automated equipment and machinery that will replace manual processes and tasks. This position involves implementing automated tests to evaluate the integrity of automated systems, ensuring that they function correctly and efficiently. The engineer will also be responsible for identifying areas where automation can enhance production and efficiency, providing technical support for automated systems as needed, and writing detailed documentation manuals that outline automated processes and any changes made to existing equipment design or operation. The role requires a proactive approach to automation design and testing, with a focus on collaboration with development personnel to build tests early in the development process. The Test Automation Engineer will maintain automated test cases, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective in evaluating system performance. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in automation and a commitment to improving operational efficiency through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design automated equipment and machinery used to complete otherwise manual processes and tasks.
  • Implement automated tests designed to evaluate integrity of automated systems.
  • Define areas where introducing automation could improve production and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support in relation to automated systems when necessary.
  • Write documentation manuals that detail automated processes and document any changes in existing equipment design or operation.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be US Citizen
  • Candidate must have Active DoD Secret Clearance at minimum
  • Candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain US government Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Candidate must have active CompTIA Security+ CE or other applicable 8570 IAT Level II certification
  • Candidate must have 4+ years' experience with automation design and testing
  • Experience using test automation tools (e.g., Selenium) to create and execute automated tests
  • Experience working with development personnel to build tests early in the development process
  • Experience maintaining automated test cases.
