About the position

The Display Artist at Anthropologie is responsible for creating visually engaging displays that resonate with customers and reflect the brand's values of creativity, diversity, and authenticity. This role involves collaboration with the Visual Merchandising Manager to enhance the customer experience through innovative two- and three-dimensional displays, while also mentoring team members and contributing to a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Visual Merchandising Manager to create an engaging visual experience that appeals to the Anthro customer.
  • Demonstrate awareness of the impact of display and merchandising on store sales and profitability.
  • Engage customers through display work on the sales floor and drive community connection through workshops, events, and gatherings when applicable.
  • Mentor the team by training visual expectations, operational standards, and materials/tool management.
  • Attend store meetings to share inspiration, new ideas, and pertinent information from Home Office and Field Leadership.
  • Take initiative with each project to grow display experience and elevate craft; support in identifying and training future display talent.
  • Collaborate in the display planning process by sharing inspiration, generating ideas, and sketching; prioritize projects and monitor progress with timelines while staying within visual budget.
  • Apply seasonal direction and inspiration provided by the Home Office to meet the unique store needs; build fixtures and maintain signage that uphold presentation standards.
  • Create and install high craft interior and window displays, responsible for clean de-installation; maintain cleanliness and organization of back of house display areas and take ownership of maintenance and repairs on the sales floor.
  • Contribute to a customer-first philosophy by flexing schedule to the needs of the business and supporting zone coverage as needed.
  • Contribute to an inclusive work environment by actively listening and seeking different perspectives.
  • Build and maintain productive partnerships with team members, contributing to a culture of strong communication and teamwork; be open and responsive to feedback.
  • Check in with leadership to maintain communication and teamwork on completing store objectives; demonstrate adaptability by redirecting priorities as needed.
  • Contribute to positive team morale through brand and store initiatives, employee recognition, and team building activities.

Requirements

  • Anthro brand fan with a natural ability to build relationships and embrace individuality and diversity.
  • Resilient leader able to thrive in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment.
  • Artistic background working with a wide variety of mediums.
  • High level of craftsmanship and ability to create and install two-dimensional and three-dimensional work.
  • Previous experience with building, drafting, and a working knowledge of power tools (including but not limited to circular saw, miter/chop saw, jig saw).
  • Ability to provide examples of previous work or portfolio.
  • Willingness to consistently work early morning weekday shifts.
