About the position

The Anticipated Long Term Substitute Elementary Art Teacher position at Caledonia-Mumford Central School District is a temporary role that will span from January 6, 2025, to June 27, 2025. The teacher will be responsible for providing appropriate instruction in art within the prescribed curriculum, establishing program goals, and creating a conducive learning environment for students.

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate instruction within the prescribed curriculum.
• Establishes short and long range program goals consistent with the school system's philosophy.
• Employs instructional methods and resources to meet stated objectives.
• Serves as a resource person in various areas of the curriculum.
• Establishes a classroom environment conducive to learning and positive self-concept.
• Develops rules for student behavior and maintains order in the classroom.
• Organizes classroom facilities and instructional materials for optimal use.
• Assesses student progress and provides progress reports.
• Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.
• Assists in implementing school-wide policies and rules governing student conduct.
• Attends required meetings such as faculty meetings and parent conferences.
• Serves on established committees as needed.
• Supervises student teachers and non-instructional personnel by consent with the principal.
• Keeps informed of current educational trends in the area of art education.
• Performs additional duties as required in emergencies.
