About the position

The Accounts Payable Generalist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of operations within the Corporate Accounts Payable department. This role involves maintaining account balances, reviewing invoices, and ensuring timely payment processing while providing excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable including vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and intercompany transactions.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of AP processing, including proper account coding and resolution of reconciling items.
• Develop and manage relationships with vendors and internal customers.
• Provide customer service by communicating A/P policies and procedures and assisting in issue resolution.
• Liaison with internal departments and vendors on projects and process improvements.
• Document all credits due to the Company and ensure contracts are paid as agreed.
• Prepare and maintain procedure documents for specific job duties.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
• Assist the Accounts Payable Manager with projects, reports, and correspondence.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Accounting or related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work with sensitive information and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Self-driven with the ability to identify and prioritize business opportunities.

Nice-to-haves

• Avid experience in accounts payable preferred but not required.
