About the position

The AP Microeconomics Teacher at IvyMax Academy is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in AP Microeconomics to students preparing for college admission. This part-time role involves facilitating classroom discussions, preparing course materials, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the learning experience. The teacher will also maintain office hours to support students and contribute to curriculum development.

Responsibilities

  • In-depth knowledge of AP Microeconomics
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions
  • Prepare course materials, such as syllabus, homework assignments, and handouts
  • Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students
  • Select and obtain materials such as textbooks, with the help of center staff members and the management team
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching issues
  • Positively reinforce student self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Be organized and well-prepared for every lecture

Requirements

  • 4-year undergraduate degree (BA, BS) or higher related to the subject
  • 2+ years of direct teaching/tutoring experience
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Available weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends
