About the position

The Leasing Agent is responsible for showing and leasing apartment homes to prospective residents. This role involves interviewing potential tenants, assisting them with applications, preparing lease forms, and collecting deposits and application fees. The Leasing Agent must be knowledgeable about the community's amenities and the surrounding neighborhood, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies. The ideal candidate should possess strong sales skills and a friendly demeanor to create a welcoming environment for prospects and residents.

Responsibilities

• Show and lease apartment homes to prospective residents.
• Interview and record information to determine needs and qualifications of prospects.
• Assist prospects in completing the application for an apartment.
• Prepare lease forms and other necessary paperwork accurately.
• Collect deposits and application fees from prospective residents.
• Accompany prospects to show apartment homes, discussing size, layout, and available amenities.
• Maintain knowledge of the surrounding neighborhood, including schools, shopping, and services available to residents.
• Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, and other relevant laws.

Requirements

• 1 - 2 years of experience in customer service or sales preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Previous experience with Property Management Software, preferably ResMan, is a plus.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and time management abilities.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid state-issued driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
