About the position

The Apartment Leasing Agent position is a full-time, contract-to-hire role based in Chatham, New Jersey. The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the leasing of apartment properties by showing units to potential tenants, processing applications, and managing lease agreements. The agent will also be responsible for maintaining positive tenant relationships and ensuring smooth move-in and move-out processes.

Responsibilities

• Show properties to potential tenants, process rental applications, and handle lease agreements.
• Ensure timely rent collection, manage late payments, and address any payment issues.
• Address tenant complaints, resolve disputes, and maintain positive tenant relationships.
• Oversee the move-in and move-out processes, including property inspections and condition reports.
• Prepare and manage lease agreements, renewals, and legal documentation.

Requirements

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of previous experience in property management is preferred, but entry level can apply as well.
• Must be outgoing, friendly attitude and ability to make others feel welcome and comfortable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
