About the position

The Leasing Consultant position at Ameritus Residential involves providing exceptional customer service in a multi-family residential setting. The role focuses on leasing apartments, processing applications, and ensuring a smooth move-in experience for new residents. The consultant will also handle administrative tasks, maintain resident files, and assist with community events, all while adhering to fair housing regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service to community members and prospects.
  • Assist in conducting complete market surveys.
  • Show, lease, and facilitate the move-in process for prospective residents.
  • Update unit availability on a daily basis.
  • Process rental applications and maintenance requests.
  • Receive collections in accordance with company standards.
  • Provide clerical and phone support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and complete community member files.
  • Manage a calendar of scheduled move-ins and ensure apartments are move-in ready.
  • Resolve resident complaints and direct issues to the community manager.
  • Conduct move-out unit walks for community members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a leasing consultant in the multi-family industry or related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi, Voyager, or Entrata is preferred.
  • Strong customer service and sales skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a service industry for at least 1 year.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations effectively.
  • Knowledge of state laws related to fair housing.
