About the position

The Apartment Leasing Agent at HoM Flats is responsible for managing leasing activities, ensuring high occupancy rates, and providing excellent customer service to prospective and current residents. This role involves engaging with potential tenants, processing applications, and maintaining community standards while contributing to a positive living environment. The agent will also participate in marketing efforts and assist with resident retention initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Greet prospects cheerfully and record their information in the leasing software.
• Manage guest cards and maintain occupancy standards for the community.
• Inspect models and available apartments, communicating service needs to the Property Manager.
• Demonstrate community features and benefits to potential clients and close sales.
• Process applications for approvals and follow up with applicants regarding their status.
• Ensure apartments are ready for new residents on agreed move-in dates.
• Follow up on prospects that did not close and attempt to close the sale again.
• Secure new resident signatures on appropriate paperwork prior to move-in.
• Assist in monitoring lease renewals and distribute renewal notices.
• Conduct market surveys and gather information about competition in the area.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License.
• Two years of experience in customer service, preferably in apartment leasing.
• Experience with Yardi software is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Fair Housing Certification or willingness to obtain it.

Nice-to-haves

• Tax Credit experience is a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
