About the position

The Apartment Leasing Manager is a key role within a family-owned property management company, responsible for leading the leasing team to achieve and exceed sales goals while fostering strong relationships with residents and the community. This position involves hiring, training, and mentoring team members, executing marketing strategies, and ensuring high occupancy rates through effective resident retention strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and motivate leasing team to meet property leasing goals
  • Establish and monitor successful achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly leasing goals
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to site team in Community Manager's absence
  • Establish and monitor execution of all daily, weekly, and monthly leasing tasks
  • Work with the marketing team to establish and execute marketing and advertising campaigns
  • Create and participate in off-site marketing to your market
  • Lead renewal strategy and business process to maximize resident retention
  • Train and monitor leasing process including sales techniques and application/lease signing
  • Create and present leases to future residents and renewing current residents
  • Establish and manage monthly outreach plan
  • Maintain knowledge of local market competition and macro market performance
  • Ensure positive relations with employees, future residents, and community members
  • Use technology and operating software to manage leads and resident needs
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure property quality standards are met
  • Enter work orders and follow up for customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Preferred 2+ years of property management, customer service, and/or sales experience in a management position
  • Well organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Experience with or ability to learn Yardi and Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with or ability to learn social media and reputation management websites
  • Motivation to learn and consistently improve
  • People skills required to educate and support residents
  • Reliable transportation to get to work daily
