About the position

The Maintenance Technician and Groundskeeper/Porter position is essential for maintaining the functionality and appearance of properties. This role involves a variety of tasks including plumbing, electrical work, drywall repair, painting, and appliance care, as well as outdoor maintenance duties such as power washing and janitorial tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and the ability to work independently while managing their schedule effectively.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace or install faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, water-dispensing refrigerators, and washing machines.
• Repair, replace or install power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling lights, ceiling fans, climate control systems, and garage door openers.
• Fill in small holes caused by nails and minor dings, as well as larger holes in drywall.
• Perform minor touch-ups and apply new coats of paint to unit walls.
• Repair, replace, diagnose, and install major household appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, range ovens, washers and dryers, hot water tanks, and air conditioners.
• Work outside primarily, performing tasks such as power washing and sweeping.
• Conduct basic painting and trash outs.
• Perform basic janitorial duties.

Requirements

• Previous maintenance experience (6 months) is required; property management experience is a plus.
• General knowledge of all aspects of maintenance repair including plumbing, electrical, drywall, appliance repairs, and painting.
• Availability Monday through Friday.
• Reliable transportation is necessary.
