About the position

The Apartment Maintenance Technician at MAA is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs to ensure that apartment homes and property facilities are in good working order. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various systems including HVAC, electrical appliances, plumbing, and carpentry, while following a planned preventative maintenance schedule and ensuring resident satisfaction after repairs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare apartments for move-in
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units
• Repair electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures
• Perform plumbing and carpentry tasks
• Maintain locks and other property facilities
• Follow a planned preventative maintenance schedule
• Follow up with residents after repairs are complete

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in multifamily property management or facility maintenance
• HVAC experience required
• EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification required at hire or within 90 days
• Valid driver's license from the state of residence

Nice-to-haves

• Willingness to obtain additional certifications
• Experience with mobile maintenance tools
