The Apartment Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that apartment homes and other property facilities are in good working order. This position requires a natural problem solver who maintains high standards of work and takes pride in a job well done. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks, which include diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units, as well as electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures. Additionally, the technician will handle plumbing, carpentry, and lock repairs. Following a planned preventative maintenance schedule is essential, and the technician will also follow up with residents after repairs are completed to ensure satisfaction. To be successful in this role, candidates should have one to three years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair, with a specific focus on HVAC experience. The position requires an EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification, which must be obtained at hire or within 90 days of the start date. A valid driver's license from the state of residence is also necessary. Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC units.
  • Repairing electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures.
  • Performing plumbing repairs and maintenance.

  • Following a planned preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Following up with residents after repairs are complete.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair.
  • HVAC experience required.
  • EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification required at hire or within 90 days of start date.
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Pool Operator certification.
  • Experience with mobile maintenance programs.
