About the position

The Apartment Facility Maintenance Technician II position at Madden Industrial Craftsmen is a full-time role based in Shoreline, WA, designed for individuals with a solid background in apartment maintenance. This position requires a commitment to performing daily service, routine, and preventative maintenance tasks across various units and common areas within the apartment complex. The technician will be responsible for a range of maintenance activities, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and appliance installation. The role is structured to operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with opportunities for temporary and temp-to-hire employment. In this role, the technician will engage in a variety of tasks that ensure the upkeep and functionality of the apartment facilities. This includes preparing move-in inspection reports for new and vacating residents, conducting self-safety inspections, and performing repairs on roofs, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and carpentry. The technician will also be responsible for tracking the key/lock system and changing locks as necessary, as well as installing new appliances such as dishwashers, ranges, and refrigerators. Additionally, the technician will provide courtesy services for tenants, which may include delivering packages and maintaining the pool/spa area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to understand and execute both verbal and written instructions, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The role demands physical stamina, as the technician will be required to lift up to 50 lbs, push and pull up to 100 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, and perform overhead painting. This position is crucial for maintaining the quality and safety of the apartment complex, contributing to a positive living environment for all residents.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily service, routine and preventative maintenance in units and common areas.
  • Prepares move-in inspection reports with new and vacating residents.
  • Conducts self-safety inspections around the complex and with co-workers.
  • Repairs roof, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and carpentry for the complex.
  • Tracks key/lock system and changes locks as needed.
  • Installs new appliances such as dishwashers, ranges, and refrigerators.
  • Provides courtesy services for tenants, such as delivering packages and routine maintenance for the pool/spa.
  • Repairs and repaints the interior and exterior of common areas as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in apartment maintenance or related experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Valid proof of US Citizenship and driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs daily.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and reach for supplies for overhead painting.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and carry out both verbal and written instructions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in appliance troubleshooting.
