About the position

The Apartment Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety of apartment communities managed by ResProp Management. This position involves performing various maintenance tasks to ensure clean, safe, and attractive common areas, responding to resident requests, and preparing vacant apartments for new tenants. The technician will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and team to prioritize tasks and enhance resident satisfaction through excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks to ensure clean, safe, and attractive common areas including pools, laundry, clubhouses, and parking lots.
  • Respond to and complete work orders in a timely and quality manner to drive resident satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor and team to prioritize daily tasks.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, guests, and vendors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance throughout the property to maintain property value.
  • Prepare vacant apartments for move-in to ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Identify and report safety issues or maintenance needs on the property to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Maintain and repair critical building and site systems.
  • Use software applications to track work and personal performance.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of general maintenance/general repair experience, preferably in the multifamily or related industry.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.
  • EPA Type I, Type II or Universal certification strongly preferred.
  • Trade skills including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, framing, painting, roofing, cabinetry, pools, and appliances.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Must live within 30 minutes of the community.
  • Dependable transportation and ability to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
