The Apartment Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that apartment homes and other property facilities are in good working order. This position requires a natural problem solver who takes pride in their work and maintains high standards. The ideal candidate will have or be willing to obtain their EPA Type II or Universal and/or Pool Certification within 90 days of hire. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks, which include preparing apartments for move-in, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units, as well as electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures. Additional responsibilities include plumbing, carpentry, and lock repairs. The technician will follow a planned preventative maintenance schedule and ensure to follow up with residents after repairs are completed. Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair to ensure apartment homes and other property facilities are in good working order.
  • Prepare apartments for move-in.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units.
  • Repair electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures.
  • Conduct plumbing, carpentry, and lock repairs.
  • Follow a planned preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Follow up with residents after repairs are complete.

Requirements

  • One to three years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair.
  • HVAC experience required.
  • EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification required at hire or within 90 days of start date.
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
