About the position

The Apartment Maintenance Technician at MAA is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs to ensure that apartment homes and property facilities are in good working order. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various systems including HVAC, electrical appliances, plumbing, and carpentry, while adhering to a planned preventative maintenance schedule and following up with residents post-repair.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units, electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures.
  • Perform plumbing, carpentry, and lock repairs.
  • Follow a planned preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Follow up with residents after repairs are completed.

Requirements

  • One to three years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair.
  • HVAC experience required.
  • EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification required at hire or within 90 days of start date.
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence.

Nice-to-haves

  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications such as Certified Pool Operator from the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance.
