About the position

The Apartment Maintenance Technician at MAA South Park plays a crucial role in ensuring that apartment homes and property facilities are well-maintained and in good working order. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work and possess strong problem-solving skills. The technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs, which include preparing apartments for new residents, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units, as well as repairing electrical appliances, outlets, light fixtures, plumbing, carpentry, and locks. Following a planned preventative maintenance schedule is essential, and the technician will also follow up with residents after repairs are completed to ensure satisfaction. In addition to technical skills, the role requires a commitment to high standards of work and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment. The technician will have the opportunity to build a career in the multifamily housing industry, with support for obtaining necessary certifications such as EPA Type II or Universal Certification and Pool Operator Certification. Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair of apartment homes and property facilities.
  • Prepare apartments for move-in.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units.
  • Repair electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures.
  • Conduct plumbing and carpentry repairs.
  • Maintain and repair locks and other hardware.
  • Follow a planned preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Follow up with residents after repairs are completed.

Requirements

  • One to three years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair.
  • HVAC experience required.
  • EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification required at hire or within 90 days of start date.
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
