About the position

The Apartment Maintenance Technician at MAA Pleasant Hill is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs to ensure that apartment homes and property facilities are in good working order. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of living for residents and involves a variety of tasks including troubleshooting and repairing HVAC units, electrical appliances, plumbing, and carpentry. The technician will also follow a preventative maintenance schedule and engage with residents post-repair to ensure satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on apartment homes and property facilities.
• Prepare apartments for move-in.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units.
• Repair electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures.
• Conduct plumbing and carpentry work.
• Change locks and perform related tasks.
• Follow a planned preventative maintenance schedule.
• Follow up with residents after repairs are complete.

Requirements

• One to three years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair.
• HVAC experience required.
• EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification required at hire or within 90 days of start date.
• Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
