About the position

As a Make Ready Technician at Madden Industrial Craftsmen, you will be an essential part of our team, ensuring that multi-housing units are prepared and maintained for new residents. This role involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall upkeep and readiness of the properties we manage. You will work closely with the Community Manager and Maintenance Manager to complete repairs, renovations, and work orders as needed. Your responsibilities will include performing daily service and routine maintenance in units, which encompasses everything from prep work and painting to maintaining common areas and grounds. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing move-in inspection reports for both new and vacating residents, ensuring that all necessary repairs and maintenance tasks are completed before new tenants arrive. Safety is a priority, and you will conduct self-safety inspections around the complex, both independently and with co-workers. Your technical skills will be put to use as you repair roofs, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and perform carpentry work as required. You will also manage the key/lock system, changing locks as needed, and install new appliances such as dishwashers, ranges, and refrigerators. Additionally, you will provide courtesy services for tenants, which may include delivering packages and performing routine maintenance for amenities like the pool and spa. The role requires a proactive approach to repairs and maintenance, as well as the ability to repaint and repair both the interior and exterior of common areas as necessary. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and offers a competitive pay rate of $19 to $22 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily service, routine and preventative maintenance in units and common areas.
  • Complete repairs and renovations as directed by the Community Manager and Maintenance Manager.
  • Prepare move-in inspection reports with new and vacating residents.
  • Conduct self-safety inspections around the complex and with co-workers.
  • Repair roofs, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and perform carpentry work as needed.
  • Track key/lock systems and change locks as necessary.
  • Install new appliances such as dishwashers, ranges, and refrigerators.
  • Provide courtesy services for tenants, including delivering packages and maintaining pool/spa areas.
  • Repair and repaint interior and exterior of common areas as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in apartment maintenance or related experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs daily.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, reach for supplies, and perform overhead painting.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and carry out both verbal and written instructions.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen in accordance with family housing regulations.
