About The Position

The APC Operator at Telemundo T31 Orlando is responsible for operating the automated production control system for live and taped television broadcasts. This role involves preparing and executing broadcasts, managing control room operations, and ensuring quality assurance in production. The operator will also assist in various production tasks and direct talent and technicians during broadcasts.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience using iNews, Dalet, or equivalent newsroom computer systems.
• Minimum of 3 years previous related production work experience in areas such as Director, Assistant Director, or Electronic Graphics.
• Strong computer skills with experience in a broadcast environment.
• Video editing skills.
• Fluent in Spanish (Read, Write and Speak).

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years' experience directing and/or technical directing.
• 3+ years' experience with Automated Production Control systems (Ross Overdrive & Xpression systems preferred).
• Associates or BA degree in Telecommunications or related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute the operation of the automated production control system (APC) for live and taped television broadcasts.
• Build rundowns for all broadcasts, including PSAs and commercials.
• Operate control room computer and automation, including technical directing, audio mixing, and video file playback.
• Give direction to talent and technicians during broadcasts.
• Assist in the operation of automated equipment used in television production.
• Monitor quality assurance and automation system interfaces/inputs.
• Perform robotic camera operations and pre-show equipment checks.
• Execute various station and remote operator duties for live and taped programming.
