About the position

The APD Operations Manager at the Automobile Club of Southern California is responsible for achieving targeted metrics in key areas such as Auto and Home claims management. This role involves overseeing significant portions of the claims business, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and collaborating with various management levels to develop strategies that enhance service delivery and profitability. The position requires strong leadership skills to manage teams effectively and implement continuous service improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategy, initiatives, and processes to achieve organizational goals.
• Implement and maintain continuous service improvements that support member service indices.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with executive and regional managers.
• Provide leadership to claims managers and technical claims positions.
• Develop and maintain operating budget and cost controls for the Claims Business Unit.
• Motivate, mentor, and develop a strong management team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of claims operations management experience.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of policy application in claims.
• Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated comprehensive level of claims management skill.
• Advanced leadership and management skills.
• Advanced organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
