About the position

Cognizant Technology Solutions is seeking an API Automation Tester with expertise in JMeter and experience in the healthcare domain. This full-time position is based onsite in Des Moines, Iowa, and involves working within a team of IT professionals to ensure high-quality software solutions through both automated and manual testing. The role emphasizes API testing and automation, requiring a strong understanding of various testing tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for REST and SOAP APIs using tools like JMeter, Postman, and Rest Assured.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and perform automation testing for web services and backend APIs.
  • Ensure API validation, response checks, and integration with automation frameworks.
  • Conduct end-to-end manual testing for various features, ensuring functionality, performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and test plans based on business and functional requirements.
  • Perform bug tracking and reporting using tools like Azure, JIRA, or Bugzilla.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, DevOps) to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Assist in UAT testing and ensure the quality of final product releases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related fields.
  • Extensive experience in API automation testing using tools like Selenium, JMeter, Postman, or Rest Assured.
  • Solid experience in manual testing, with strong test case design, execution, and bug reporting.
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Java, Python, or Groovy for test automation.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including integrating test automation into build processes using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab.
  • Proficiency with test management tools like Azure for test case management and bug reporting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of database testing with SQL queries.
  • Experience in interoperability testing within the healthcare domain.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
