In this role, the API Developer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that enable different software systems to communicate and share data seamlessly. The developer will design and develop APIs and other data services that allow various software applications, systems, data services, and enterprise components to interact across the Secure Information Environment (SIE). This includes creating the necessary endpoints, methods, and data structures to improve standardization, scale, and data pedigree while managing the providence through the dissemination of data. The API Developer will also integrate APIs with various software systems, ensuring smooth data flow between applications, and maintain and update existing APIs to ensure functionality and security. The role requires creating comprehensive documentation for the APIs, including usage guidelines, endpoint descriptions, and example requests and responses. Security measures must be implemented in accordance with the EDAT TO to protect APIs from potential threats, ensuring secure data transfer. The developer will conduct thorough testing of APIs to ensure they work as expected and resolve any errors. Collaboration with other developers, product managers, and stakeholders is essential to understand requirements and ensure the APIs meet operator needs. This position is on-site in Tampa, FL, and requires an active DOD Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure APIs meet operator needs.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in API development and a MA/MS degree.
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of work experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree.
  • 12 years of work experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work with teams but self-motivated to complete projects independently.
  • Ability to work fully on-site with minimal accommodation.
  • Must have an active DOD Top Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with emerging technology solutions including Enterprise Architecture (EA) and data science.
