About the position

The API Developer Portal Product Director at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for leading the innovation and development of customer-centric API products within the Consumer and Community Banking division. This role involves overseeing the product lifecycle, managing risks, and achieving business growth targets while fostering a culture of continuous innovation and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the product roadmap, vision, development, execution, risk management, and business growth targets.
• Leads the entire product life cycle through planning, execution, and future development by continuously adapting, developing new products and methodologies, managing risks, and achieving business targets like cost, features, reusability, and reliability to support growth.
• Coaches and mentors the product team on best practices, such as solution generation, market research, storyboarding, mind-mapping, prototyping methods, product adoption strategies, and product delivery, enabling them to effectively deliver on objectives.
• Owns product performance and is accountable for investing in enhancements to achieve business objectives.
• Monitors market trends, conducts competitive analysis, and identifies opportunities for product differentiation; uncovers customer solutions and integrates them into the product roadmap.
• Works with JPMorganChase and partner developers to identify challenges and ensure the developer portal addresses these challenges; builds relationships with other platform teams within the firm and identifies opportunities for integrations/inner sourcing with the API Management Platform.
• Defines end-to-end experience: portal UI, identity and access management, observability, and associates reporting to seamless traffic management.
• Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition; collaborates with engineering, architecture, design, and stakeholders to create a product roadmap that reflects the outcomes and key results set by the business.

• Proven experience in product management, particularly in API development or related fields.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor cross-functional teams.
• Experience in managing product roadmaps and executing product strategies.
• Ability to conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product development.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
