About the position

The API Developer-Development Support and Experience Specialist role at FIS involves providing high-level consulting services and technical support to developers using the company's APIs and tools. This position is focused on enhancing the developer experience within the Open Banking API development team, ensuring that the developer community receives exceptional support and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level consulting services to clients and prepare programming assignments.
  • Design, plan, and supervise implementation of complex, large-scale system projects.
  • Provide technical support to developers using APIs, SDKs, and other tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and guides to assist developers.
  • Engage with the developer community through forums, social media, and events.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from developers to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enhance the developer experience.
  • Conduct webinars, workshops, and training sessions to educate developers on best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to provide relevant support.
  • Maintain project estimates and project management timelines for multiple major projects.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of specifications for multiple major projects to be estimated.
  • Determine programming requirements for multiple major projects.
  • Develop technical designs that will meet system objectives and minimize the impact on operations.
  • Maintain and develop online and batch application programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience with 6-8 years of full life cycle development experience.
  • 5-7 years of programming and system design experience in financial services or a related industry.
  • Experience with documentation tools and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, SDKs, and developer tools.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
