About the position

Join AAA Washington as an API Integration Developer in our Digital Services department, located in Bellevue, WA. This hybrid role is designed for individuals with a strong background in API development and integration. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using MuleSoft or similar tools. Your expertise will be crucial in implementing RESTful and SOAP APIs to facilitate seamless communication between various systems and applications. You will ensure the security of the APIs by implementing robust authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms, adhering to industry standards. Performance optimization is key, as you will work to enhance API scalability to manage high volumes of requests effectively. Collaboration is essential in this role; you will work closely with software engineers and architects to integrate APIs into existing systems and applications. Additionally, you will conduct thorough API testing and debugging to identify and resolve any issues that may arise. Documentation is also a critical aspect of your responsibilities, as you will be required to document APIs, including specifications, usage guidelines, and best practices to ensure clarity and usability for future developers. To qualify for this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a related field, or have equivalent experience. A minimum of four years of experience in API development and a solid understanding of security standards such as OAuth, JWT, and SSL/TLS are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities
