About the position

The API Integration Developer at AAA Washington is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to facilitate communication between various systems and applications. This hybrid role requires collaboration with software engineers and architects to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of APIs, while also focusing on security and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using MuleSoft or similar tools.
• Implement RESTful and SOAP APIs to enable communication between different systems and applications.
• Ensure API security by implementing authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms.
• Optimize API performance and scalability to handle high volumes of requests.
• Collaborate with software engineers and architects to integrate APIs into existing systems and applications.
• Conduct API testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues.
• Document APIs, including specifications, usage guidelines, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in API development and security standards, such as OAuth, JWT, and SSL/TLS.
