About the position
The API Tester role is a contract position focused on testing APIs using various tools and methodologies. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the functionality and reliability of APIs through rigorous testing practices, including the creation and maintenance of test plans and cases. The position requires strong expertise in using Postman and Soap UI, as well as knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON/XML structures, and SQL queries.
Responsibilities
- Testing using RESTful APIs
- Utilizing Postman and Soap UI for API testing
- Creating, updating, and maintaining test plans and cases
- Writing test scripts in BDD (Gherkin language) and executing pre-written scripts
- Testing APIs for both frontend and backend
- Conducting test case reviews and ensuring best testing practices are followed
- Communicating testing progress, results, and relevant information to project teams and stakeholders
- Performing defect triage, prioritization, and troubleshooting
- Employing knowledge of work management software such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana, or MS Project
- Managing time effectively to support multiple testing campaigns simultaneously
- Working knowledge of CI/CD practices
Requirements
- Experience testing APIs
