About the position

The APMO Business Intelligence Analytics Engineer at S&P Global is responsible for creating reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to support operational and strategic goals. This role is integral to fostering a customer-centric culture and promoting continuous improvement within the Agile Program Management Office, which supports the Ratings Technology organization. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure data is effectively utilized for decision-making and operational success.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards to meet business and technology goals.
  • Gather and understand business requirements for data visualization and analysis.
  • Collaborate with others to acquire, clean, and transform data for reporting purposes.
  • Create complex DAX calculations and measures to support data analysis.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Power BI reports.
  • Provide training and support to end users on using Power BI.
  • Keep up to date with the latest Power BI features and trends.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Power BI development, including report and dashboard creation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and data visualization concepts.
  • Experience with SQL for data manipulation and extraction.
  • Demonstrable data analysis/profiling, query generation and performance optimization on traditional RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres) and Data lake (Databricks, EMR) systems.
  • Experience with data modeling and knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating calculations.
  • Demonstrable data modeling experience supporting OLTP and OLAP use cases.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse concepts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability to changing business requirements.
  • Ability to work on and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred Power BI certifications.
  • Experience working with Agile methodology (SAFe preferred).
  • Experience with globally distributed teams.
