About The Position

The APP Genetic Counselor Services Director will oversee genetic counseling services at UK Healthcare, ensuring alignment across departments and providing both direct patient support and supervision of staff. This role involves advising leadership on various strategic matters related to genetic counseling and serving as a role model for genetic counselors and inter-professional colleagues.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling
• 5 years of related experience
• Genetic Counselor License in Kentucky by hire date
• Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) through the American Board of Genetic Counseling

Responsibilities

• Serve as the programmatic and professional resource for genetic counselors throughout UK Healthcare.
• Ensure alignment across all departments regarding genetic counseling services.
• Provide direct patient support and supervision of staff.
• Advise UKHC Leadership on professional, education, business, technical, market, and strategic matters pertaining to Genetic Counseling services.
• Set the vision and strategy for key areas of focus within the role.
• Partner with finance, strategy, innovation, digital health strategies, research, philanthropy, compliance, and government relations.
• Demonstrate strong operational, business acumen, academic excellence, and effective interpersonal and leadership practices.
