About the position

The position involves providing medical care, consultation, and patient education as part of a healthcare team at Vail Health, a leading mountain healthcare system. The role includes conducting patient assessments, assisting in surgical procedures, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while promoting patient safety and quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments including medical history review, physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and differential diagnosis.
  • Provide patient education regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care measures.
  • Perform minor procedures and treatments, such as wound care, injections, and suture removal.
  • Assist physicians during surgical procedures, including retracting tissues, suturing, and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Promote professional, courteous, and collaborative interaction with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
  • Document patient encounters, procedures performed, and treatment plans accurately in the electronic medical record system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Practice fiscal responsibility by ensuring efficient and cost-effective coordination of care.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant in a related area preferred.
  • License and certifications as per the employee's contract, with credentialing by the Medical Staff Office.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain necessary computer skills within 90 days.
  • Working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
