Responsibilities

• Learn and perform general grounds maintenance tasks.
• Repair fences, gates, yards, and roads.
• Clear debris, snow, and ice from right of ways, substations, and switching stations.
• Cut grass, brush, and prune trees and shrubs.
• Apply herbicides for vegetation control under supervision.
• Load and unload materials needed for daily jobs.
• Set out traffic signs and flag traffic according to safety rules.
• Drive full-size commercial vehicles and trailers, including tractors and maintenance equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Maryland Driver's License required.
• Commercial Driver's License, Class A required.
• Department of Transportation Medical Examiners Certificate required.
• Physical ability to perform essential functions, including climbing ladders, bending, pulling/pushing, digging, and lifting loads averaging 80 pounds.
