About the position

This position acts as the Business Lead for quality assurance related best practices for Meijer Own Brand Apparel. The role involves leading the quality team, establishing processes, and ensuring that Meijer Own Brand apparel meets customer expectations regarding quality and safety. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with in-office work from Monday to Wednesday and remote work from Thursday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the quality team responsible for Meijer Own Brand Apparel including apparel technical support.
  • Establish processes, infrastructure, and training to ensure Meijer Own Brand apparel meets customer expectations related to quality and safety.
  • Develop product standards for apparel tech packs.
  • Oversee the development of testing protocols for apparel.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance Specialist to ensure regulatory requirements are correctly addressed in testing protocols and tech packs.
  • Coordinate with testing labs and manufacturers to ensure products are tested and inspected according to Meijer's standards.
  • Review apparel testing and inspection failures and determine corrective action required.
  • Coordinate with Technical Designers to establish garment construction standards.
  • Develop and manage Meijer's quality management system for apparel including the vendor scorecard/qualification program.
  • Communicate with Meijer team members, vendors, and agents overseas in support of apparel on quality topics, production issues, and product concern investigations.
  • Develop and implement an appropriate strategy for product evaluation post-launch including customer return and complaint data and in-store evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel and Textile Technology or Design.
  • 3-4 years of experience in Apparel and/or Textile Quality Assurance role required.
  • Positive, high energy and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Self-motivation with a strong work ethic, attention to detail and ability to work well within a creative team.
  • Ability to think proactively and solve problems.
  • Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is a plus.
