About the position

Groundswell is seeking an experienced Appian Architect to provide integrated architecture support for our delivery teams and act as trusted advisors to our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding clients on architecture design, integration, scalability, configuration management, DevSecOps, and other program initiatives to drive technical success. You will work closely with client enterprise architecture teams to design and deliver solutions tailored to their unique needs and ecosystems. Your expertise will help ensure that solutions are built for scale and performance, integrating multi-tier architecture through various integrations and system configurations. As an Appian Architect, you will evaluate emerging or incumbent technologies for their value and fit in client or back-office implementations. You will also create and document implementation best practices and knowledge base articles for internal enablement. Your role will involve providing thought leadership on process improvement and supporting internal solutions, infrastructure, and tools. Mentorship, training, and enablement of resources will be key components of your responsibilities, as you help to scale our business by providing expert guidance on solution delivery and designing cutting-edge Appian solutions into our client's architecture. You will collaborate with a diverse, enthusiastic, multi-disciplinary team of creative minds, leveraging your strong technical implementation skills and experience with Appian solutions. This hybrid position allows for flexibility, with on-site work in McLean, VA, and remote work options available.

Responsibilities

  • Guide clients on architecture design, integration, scalability, configuration management, DevSecOps, and other program initiatives to drive technical success.
  • Work with client enterprise architecture teams to design and deliver solutions that fit their unique needs and ecosystems.
  • Guide implementation teams through complex technical solutions with Appian and tangential technologies.
  • Ensure solutions are built for scale and performance.
  • Integrate multi-tier architecture through integrations and system configuration.
  • Evaluate emerging or incumbent technologies for value and fit in client or back-office implementations.
  • Create and document implementation best practices as well as knowledge base articles for internal enablement.
  • Provide thought leadership on process improvement.
  • Support internal solutions, infrastructure, and tools.
  • Mentorship, training, and enablement of resources.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with Appian solutions
  • 5+ years of related IT experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or related area
  • Active Appian Lead Certification
  • Strong experience with Agile delivery
  • Strong technical implementation skills
  • Strong database design and development skills
  • Experience evaluating and resolving issues found during system security testing
  • Experience with Appian Cloud configuration and support processes
  • Experience implementing Cloud, On-Premises, and Hybrid platform deployments
  • Experience in network infrastructure concepts and troubleshooting techniques
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner, both verbally and written
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to details, ability to work in a high-paced environment, multi-task, and work both independently and as a team.
