About the position

Apex Systems is seeking a Secret Cleared Appian Developer to support a Department of Defense program. This full-time, direct-hire position is fully remote but based out of Mechanicsburg, PA. The role involves software development using the Appian BPM Suite, requiring a strong background in interface design, requirements gathering, and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements from mission partners and stakeholders.
• Design and document interfaces for applications.
• Develop solutions using the Appian BPM Suite.
• Implement and maintain applications on the Appian platform.
• Conduct code quality assurance audits to ensure coding standards are met.
• Utilize code analysis tools to identify vulnerabilities and performance issues.
• Maintain source code in Azure DevOps or the Appian BPM Suite.
• Provide technical advice to team and management regarding new technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

• 4 years of experience in requirements gathering from mission partners/stakeholders.
• 4 years of experience in interface design and documentation.
• 2-4 years of software development experience using Appian.
• 2 years of recent development and implementation experience on the Appian BPM Suite.
• Appian Certified Developer certification.
• Proficiency in Java programming language.
• Hands-on experience with Appian platform and architecture.
• 2 years of experience in configuring, debugging, and systems integration.
• 2 years of experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active Secret Level Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with automated/manual unit testing and Integrated System Testing (IST).
• Familiarity with Navy best practices for application development.
