About the position

GovCIO is currently seeking an Appian Frontend Developer to collaborate and implement with cross-functional teams dedicated to delivering impactful features. This pivotal role will help coordinate the development efforts across different departments to ensure timely and efficient feature rollouts. The position is fully remote and available to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS). The Appian Configuration Developer will provide guidance on Appian product configuration, mapping of requirements and rulesets to Appian objects and process flow, design review, performance testing, scaling, and industry-specific knowledge. In this role, you will liaise with customers to collect, clarify, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical design and implementation. You will produce rulesets, configurations, process workflows, and technical solutions for development while supporting requirement gathering sessions. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you will develop a deep understanding of the client enterprise while leading large, multi-year program initiatives. Additionally, you will create and maintain business process and technical documentation, including workflows, architecture diagrams, interface diagrams, and design best practices. You will participate in meetings with clients, the business analysis team, and internal technical and operational teams. The role requires extensive knowledge of Appian's application proprietary Case Management and Business Process Management software, as well as experience in Appian 18.x (and above) design and implementation. You will implement design, development, and testing best practices across the entire software development life cycle, and you should have a thorough knowledge of software development and government documentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on Appian product configuration, mapping of requirements and rulesets to Appian objects and process flow.

  • Produce rulesets, configurations, process workflows and technical solutions for development and support requirement gathering sessions.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of the client enterprise while leading large, multi-year program initiatives.
  • Create and maintain business process and technical documentation including workflows, architecture diagrams, interface diagrams and design best practices.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, business analysis team and internal technical and operational teams.
  • Implement design, development, and testing best practices across the entire software development life cycle.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of government or industry configuration management procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 - 5 years of experience or commensurate experience in IT.
  • 3+ years of experience in Application Development, Business Process Management, and/or Enterprise Application Integration (SOA) with Appian or other BPM tools.
  • 3+ years in defining and documenting architecture for technology implementations leveraging different architectural views.
  • 3+ years of experience in Enterprise Application integration (SOA, ESB) and n-tier client-server architectures.
  • 3+ years of experience in all phases of software development for large-scale business critical applications following Agile methodologies.
  • 3+ years of Business Architecture experience including identifying & decomposing business capabilities.
  • 3+ years of Business process modeling & optimization experience.
  • 3+ years of recent hands-on experience with Appian.
  • 3+ years of experience developing Appian Plugin.
  • 3+ years of working knowledge of Application Servers like JBoss, Weblogic, IIS, Tomcat as part of the installation.
  • 3+ years experienced in configuring, debugging, and systems integration including configuring forms, reports, underlying logic, and interface components as a developer.
  • Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements and configurations of Appian BPM.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of recent work experience on a software development project in a federal government setting.
  • Certified Level 3 Appian Developer.
  • Exposure to common industry platforms and programming languages - Appian BPM, IBM WebSphere, Mule, LAMP/JBOSS, HADOOP, Java, Microsoft/.Net.
  • Experience working with Appian Sites.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile Framework.
