About the position

GovCIO is currently seeking an Appian Frontend Development Lead to collaborate and implement with cross-functional teams dedicated to delivering impactful features. This pivotal role will help coordinate the development efforts across different departments to ensure timely and efficient feature rollouts. The position is fully remote and available to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS). The Appian Frontend Developer Lead will provide guidance on Appian product configuration, mapping of requirements and rulesets to Appian objects and process flow, design review, performance testing, scaling, and industry-specific knowledge. In this role, you will provide expert leadership and guidance on projects including enterprise application architecture, design review, technical mentorship, and industry-specific knowledge. You will oversee and guide both problem analysis and technical solution implementation through final testing and knowledge transfer. Leading a team of Appian Consultants, you will ensure timely delivery in project-related tasks. You will be responsible for designing and creating high-level solutions and implementing them for customers by understanding their requirements and driving the same with the development team. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing and guiding project teams in the areas of Appian BPM Solution design, process modeling, solution development, system and application integration approaches, deployment, and optimization. You will liaise with customers to collect, clarify, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical design and implementation. This role requires extensive knowledge of Appian's application proprietary Case Management and Business Process Management software, as well as practical experience in the use of automated tools to support configuration management efforts. You will also provide leadership on process improvement, mentorship, training, and enablement of resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on Appian product configuration, mapping of requirements and rulesets to Appian objects and process flow.
  • Conduct design reviews, performance testing, and scaling of applications.
  • Oversee problem analysis and technical solution implementation through final testing and knowledge transfer.
  • Lead a team of Appian Consultants ensuring timely delivery in project-related tasks.
  • Design and create high-level solutions for customers based on their requirements.
  • Review and guide project teams in Appian BPM Solution design, process modeling, and solution development.
  • Liaise with customers to collect, clarify, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical design.
  • Produce rulesets, configurations, process workflows, and technical solutions for development.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand the client enterprise while leading large, multi-year program initiatives.
  • Create and maintain business process and technical documentation including workflows and architecture diagrams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 - 8 years of experience or commensurate experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT with responsibilities in Application Development, Business Process Management, and/or Enterprise Application Integration (SOA) with Appian or other BPM tools.
  • 3+ years in defining and documenting architecture for technology implementations.
  • 3+ years of experience in Enterprise Application integration (SOA, ESB) and n-tier client-server architectures.
  • 3+ years of experience in all phases of software development for large-scale business-critical applications following Agile methodologies.
  • 3+ years of Business Architecture experience including identifying & decomposing business capabilities.
  • 3+ years of Business process modeling & optimization experience.
  • 3+ years of recent hands-on experience with Appian.
  • 3+ years of experience developing Appian Plugin.
  • 3+ years of working knowledge of Application Servers like JBoss, Weblogic, IIS, Tomcat.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of recent work experience on a software development project in a federal government setting.
  • Certified Level 3 Appian Developer.
  • Exposure to common industry platforms and programming languages - Appian BPM, IBM WebSphere, Mule, LAMP/JBOSS, HADOOP, Java, Microsoft/.Net.
  • Experience working with Appian Sites.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile Framework.
