About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract position. The role involves software development, integration, customization, and support, working closely with an agile team to deliver new development projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with analysts and the line of business to understand new requirements and translate them into actionable work units for the Appian solution within a larger application context. Responsibilities include coding, configuring, debugging, unit testing, integration testing, and documenting application enhancements. Additionally, the developer will support the creation of user guides for new projects and enhancements, analyze and debug existing application logic, and update documentation as necessary. The role also requires assisting database developers, quality assurance teams, and business analysts to ensure data integrity, consistency, security, and privacy. Adherence to organizational policies, standards, and best practices in application development is crucial, following the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile iterative development approach. The developer will troubleshoot technical issues as they arise during project life cycles, identify and articulate risks during development and deployment, and coordinate and communicate effectively with various teams.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for software development, integration, customization, and support.
• Work with other members of an agile team and will be responsible for new development.
• Work closely with analysts and the line of business to understand new requirements and to deliver.
• Take requirements and break them into work units in order to deliver Appian solution in the context of a larger application.
• Code, configure, debug, unit test, integration test and document application enhancements.
• Support the development of user guides for new projects and enhancements.
• Analyze, debug and revise existing application logic difficulties and update documentation as necessary.
• Assist database developers, quality assurance team, business analysts in ways to ensure data integrity, consistency, security and privacy.
• Adhere to organizational policies, standards and best practices in application development, documentation, and maintenance that support the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) following Agile iterative development approach.
• Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise during project life cycles.
• Identify and articulate the risks during development deployment.
• Coordinate and communicate with various teams with exceptional communication skills.

Requirements

• Appian developer, with experience in delivering BPM solutions and an ability to learn.
• 5+ years of Appian UI hands-on experience in development, configuration, debug, unit test and documentation.
• Good understanding of Appian Objects such as Records, Sites, Actions, Security, Expression Rules, Constants, Query Rules, Web API, Interface Rules, CDTs, Process Models, Constants, Decisions, Integrations, Connected Systems, Data Stores, Groups, etc.
• Skills to leverage Appian technical documentation and Appian user community to build new prototypes as required.
• Experience with one or more end-to-end Appian BPM or UI implementation (Design/ Develop/ Deploy/ Package).
• Expertise in designing and implementing BPM solutions for process simplification, case management and role based applications.
• Exceptional knowledge of the product including BPM Fundamentals, Architecture Components, Technical Features such as Designer Features, Configurations in Appian, etc.
• Experience in design and development in Appian BPM including components such as Tempo, Forums, SAIL, Plugin development, Smart Services, Reports and Deployment, etc.
• Expertise in business Integration deployment and human task management using Appian 18 higher versions.
• Ability to do root cause analysis on production issues reported by business users.
• Ability to work independently on assignments based on specific requirements.
• Experience with database design.
• Expertise in using CI/CD Pipeline for Appian.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on development on Appian (18x/19x/20x) BPM applications, including SAIL code, is preferred.
