About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX, and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position. The role involves software development, integration, customization, and support within an agile team environment. The programmer will be responsible for new development and will work closely with analysts and the line of business to understand new requirements and deliver effective solutions. The position requires breaking down requirements into manageable work units to deliver Appian solutions in the context of larger applications. The programmer will also be responsible for coding, configuring, debugging, unit testing, integration testing, and documenting application enhancements. Additionally, they will support the development of user guides for new projects and enhancements, analyze and debug existing application logic, and update documentation as necessary. Collaboration with database developers, quality assurance teams, and business analysts is essential to ensure data integrity, consistency, security, and privacy. The programmer must adhere to organizational policies, standards, and best practices in application development, documentation, and maintenance that support the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) following an Agile iterative development approach. Identifying and articulating risks during development and deployment, as well as coordinating and communicating with various teams, are also key responsibilities. The role requires effective troubleshooting of technical issues as they arise during project life cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for software development, integration, customization, and support.
  • Work with other members of an agile team and responsible for new development.
  • Work closely with analysts and the line of business to understand new requirements and to deliver.
  • Break down requirements into work units to deliver Appian solutions in the context of a larger application.
  • Code, configure, debug, unit test, integration test and document application enhancements.
  • Support the development of user guides for new projects and enhancements.
  • Analyze, debug and revise existing application logic difficulties and update documentation as necessary.
  • Assist database developers, quality assurance team, business analysts in ensuring data integrity, consistency, security and privacy.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, standards and best practices in application development, documentation, and maintenance that support the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) following Agile iterative development approach.
  • Identify and articulate the risks during development and deployment.
  • Coordinate and communicate with various teams with exceptional communication skills.
  • Effectively troubleshoot technical issues as they arise during project life cycles.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of Appian UI hands-on experience in development, configuration, debug, unit test and documentation.
  • Experience working on one or more end-to-end Appian BPM or UI implementation (Design/Develop/Deploy/Package).
  • Good understanding of Appian Objects such as Records, Sites, Actions, Security, Expression Rules, Constants, Query Rules, Web API, Interface Rules, CDTs, Process Models Constants, Decisions, Integrations, Connected Systems, Data Stores, Groups, etc.
  • Skills to leverage Appian technical documentation and Appian user community to build new prototypes as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on development on Appian (18x/19x/20x) BPM applications, including SAIL code.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing BPM solutions for process simplification, case management and role based applications.
  • Exceptional knowledge of the product including BPM Fundamentals, Architecture Components, Technical Features such as Designer Features, Configurations in Appian, etc.
  • Experience in design and development in Appian BPM including components such as Tempo, Forums, SAIL, Plugin development, Smart Services, Reports and Deployment, etc.
  • Expertise in business Integration deployment and human task management using Appian 18 and higher versions.
  • Ability to do root cause analysis on production issues reported by business users.
  • Experience with database design.
  • Expertise in using CI/CD Pipeline for Appian.
