About the position

The leader of the AppleCare Engineering team is responsible for overseeing program deliverables, schedules, and priorities across multiple product lines. This role involves managing complex engineering issues, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with various internal teams to deliver all Service Manufacturing Processes. The position requires a seasoned leader who can mentor a team of program managers and engineers, prioritize projects, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Align cross-functional teams and Service Engineering on program deliverables, schedules, and priorities.
  • Determine engineering project goals and make project priority decisions considering timeline, cost, and resources.
  • Own the overall project timeline for all AppleCare engineering teams.
  • Drive and coordinate engineering teams to adhere to the overall schedule and ensure accurate handoff to partners.
  • Highlight schedule, resource, cost, or alignment challenges to management.
  • Apply internal tools for project consolidation and build executive summaries from individual team updates.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in program/project management with outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management tools, schedule development/management, and leadership experience.
  • Strong technical intuition and understanding of basic engineering concepts.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and relate to various technical partners.
  • Highly effective communicator with sharp interpersonal skills, capable of communicating across varied audiences.
  • Management experience leading high-functioning, professional teams with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in HW EPM, launching products, and driving new product development cycles.
  • B.S. in Engineering or a Technical degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Management experience working with a globally distributed team.
  • M.S. or PhD in Engineering or a Technical degree with 7+ years of experience in a related field or industry.
  • Experience in international and/or regional Product Safety, Environmental, EMC, and Regulatory standards/regulations.
