About the position

The Applic Developer Analyst IV position at the University of Florida involves providing expert guidance on the design and development of IT systems, ensuring integration with existing systems, and managing external interface development. Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on the design and development of IT systems, ensuring integration with existing systems.
  • Manage external interface development and software integration while ensuring adherence to IT standards and policies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including designs, specifications, and processes.
  • Lead projects from conception through to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Define system scope and objectives based on user needs, and lead feasibility assessments and design options.
  • Provide estimates for analysis and development efforts and recommend solutions for code/data/report enhancements.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of other analysts and programming team members.
  • Provide technical mentoring, instruction, and direct supervision to less experienced staff.
  • Manage project teams, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure project and user satisfaction.
  • Participate in performance monitoring, product evaluation, and IT industry best practice reviews.
  • Support operational functions and problem solving through the application of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Packaged Application Integration.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers, business analysts, and technical teams.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization to ensure transparency and alignment on project objectives and deliverables.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and four years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in systems development and project management.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in data quality assurance, governance, and management.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex data environments, including data lakes and data warehouses.
  • Experience with Snowflake's cloud-based data warehousing and analytics platform.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including cloud architecture, security, and compliance requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience in setting up foundational data quality and assurance processes.
  • Hands-on experience in data cleansing, deduplication, and validation processes.
  • Experience in seamlessly integrating and maintaining accessibility of data across various platforms and systems.
