About the position

The Application Administrator-Lead position is responsible for overseeing the support and performance of server and application environments within the Department of Finance and Administration. This role involves complex troubleshooting, mentoring other application administrators, and leading the design and planning of enterprise-level applications. The position requires a strong technical background in application and server management, as well as the ability to ensure the integrity and security of enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the support for server and application performance in production, development, and test environments.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting of server and application issues.
  • Mentor other application administrators and provide guidance on complex tasks.
  • Monitor application and server performance using performance monitoring tools.
  • Implement security settings to ensure data security during transmission and at rest.
  • Evaluate network data for load balancing and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Schedule and perform routine maintenance on applications and servers.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system implementation and recovery.
  • Coordinate application downtime with co-workers to minimize service disruption.
  • Conduct training sessions for the application administration team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of professional-level experience in applications, systems, or network programming.
  • Experience in administratively managing business or information systems.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning and troubleshooting for applications and servers.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with enterprise application software support.
  • Knowledge of firewall concepts and network architecture.
  • Scripting skills for automation and administration tasks.
