The Application Administrator at Illinois State University is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and providing technical expertise for enterprise and business-level information systems. Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize enterprise and business-level information systems.
• Act as a Primary or Backup Administrator for various software tools.
• Perform software installation, patching, and performance tuning.
• Configure applications and document processes.
• Troubleshoot issues related to software applications.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of work experience in IT-related functions or relevant college coursework.
• Experience performing server and/or application systems administration.
• Knowledge of ITSM, ticketing, and issue tracking.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with source control such as GitLab.
• Familiarity with different Server Operating Systems like Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Knowledge of containerization software such as Docker and Amazon Elastic Container Service.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS and Azure.
• General understanding of database technologies and SQL query/reporting tools.
