About the position
The Application Analyst position is responsible for providing technical and business support for assigned business applications, ensuring effective management throughout the application lifecycle. This role involves training end users, resolving issues, managing vendor relations, and ensuring compliance with internal IT processes and security policies. The analyst will also document system-related information and administer application changes, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's application support.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and business support to local and remote end users for assigned business applications.
- Manage the lifecycle of supported applications from implementation to retirement, including configuration, maintenance, and security management.
- Provide technical expertise for integration with other applications and understand infrastructure architecture.
- Manage vendor relations and utilize support options to resolve complex issues.
- Partner with vendors to understand application roadmaps and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with internal IT processes and security policies for SOX information systems.
- Participate in the collection of internal controls information for audit requests.
- Establish and maintain system-related documentation, including architecture and data flow diagrams.
- Administer application changes through the change control process, including test planning and execution.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least six years of experience providing direct Tier II and III level support to end users of technical applications.
- At least five years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2018 and above, SQL scripting, ODBC, DNS, TCP/IP, and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Scheduler, SSRS, Spotfire, and Crystal Reports.
