About the position

The Application Analyst role in Weld County's Information Technology Department is responsible for the day-to-day application and user support throughout the organization. They will perform duties related to the implementation, management, maintenance, enhancement, support, and decommission of critical software systems. Duties include consulting with stakeholders to gather and define requirements; configure and implement new systems and/or enhance existing systems; write and execute test plans; troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues; deliver training and guidance to end users and system/service owners; develop and maintain system documentation; prepare robust reports to enhance strategic business decisions. This position may support applications such as: Accela, Tyler Treasurer Plus, Tyler Records Management, Hyland OnBase, Application Enhancer Imaging Systems, Cartegraph Asset Management, Facilities Management Software (Door Access Control, HVAC, Environmental Control, Smart Lighting, Fuel Dispensing Systems, and etc.), Harris Realware CAMA Software, and other enterprise applications. The selected person will work as part of a team to meet with business users to understand their needs, and have responsibilities maintaining applications (writing code, updating software, improving web interfaces, building workflows) to improve the overall platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical knowledge and assistance to the business unit on applications.
• Work with vendors to understand and ensure technical requirements of application are being met.
• Collaborate with Technical Operations to ensure appropriate computing environments are configured.
• Install business applications on servers and work with Technical Support to test their installation.
• Consult with business partners to identify and document application needs and project requirements.
• Make recommendations on solution options and create RFPs.
• Track and document changes to functional and business specifications.
• Develop, coordinate, and implement plans to test business and functional processes during system development and user acceptance testing.
• Assist in the development of project plans for relevant projects.
• Monitor, research, resolve and document post-implementation problems and revision requests.
• Prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects.
• Mentor other Application Analysts and provide guidance on their planning and management responsibilities.
• Provide timely ongoing functional and technical support of relevant applications.
• Respond to tickets in a timely fashion and keep their status up to date in the ticketing system.
• Maintain application uptime for the business during non-outage windows.
• Create and keep appropriate documentation up to date including Application Documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or 3 years related work experience.
• Technical experience deploying and supporting enterprise applications.
• Ability to quickly learn and support new applications from both a technical and functional perspective.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Project and Visio.
• Ability to effectively present information, verbally and written, and respond to questions from individuals and groups.
• Ability to work with other groups within Information Technology to ensure appropriate solutions are being delivered.
• Ability to work under general supervision and guidance, while maintaining a positive attitude and team player mentality.
