About the position

The Application Architect V position at BCforward involves designing and developing database solutions to automate regulatory report generation processes for the Broker Dealer business. This role requires a strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and data warehousing, along with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain applications in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop database solutions to enhance the automation of regulatory report generation processes for the Broker Dealer business.
• Perform performance tuning of existing applications to ensure fast and reliable intraday activities for end users.
• Contribute actively to the application lifecycle, including maintenance, release management, and critical bug fixing to ensure error-free software delivery.
• Communicate effectively with business partners to obtain agreement and escalate issues as needed to keep execution activities on track.
• Troubleshoot problems in production and lower environments.
• Collaborate with the Scrum Master, Project Manager, and other Agile team members.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in database architecture and development with Oracle 12c/19c, including efficient SQL, performance tuning, and debugging skills.
• Good understanding of data warehousing tools such as Informatica, with efficient data transformation and processing skills.
• Familiarity with job schedulers like Autosys, Python programming language, and Unix Shell Scripting.
• Domain knowledge of Investment Banking and regulatory reporting is a plus.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to take direction and lead when necessary.
• Ability to contribute constructively in discussions and work with competing ideas to achieve project success.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Agile principles.
