About the position

The Application Architecture Manager at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is responsible for leading a team of architects and developers in designing, developing, and implementing application architecture solutions that align with the strategic goals of the organization. This role focuses on ensuring applications are scalable, secure, and maintainable while enhancing the overall experience for colleagues and clients. The manager will mentor the team, oversee architectural frameworks, collaborate with stakeholders, and lead complex projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of architects and developers in application architecture design and implementation.
  • Manage and mentor application architects, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of application architecture frameworks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define architectural vision and strategy.
  • Lead complex projects ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless application integration.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • Identify potential risks in application architecture and development processes.
  • Implement strategies to mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in delivering highly scalable digital products.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in software product delivery.
  • Experience in building distributed systems based on microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming with languages such as C#, .NET, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with API Management systems and REST API design.
  • Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS public cloud technology stack.
  • Proven experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with continuous integration and build/test automation.
  • Ability to monitor system performance trends and recommend improvements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the insurance or finance industry.
  • Interest in new technologies and trends in Open Source, UI, AI, etc.
